35-year-old dies following stabbing in Tissamaharama

A person has been stabbed and murdered using a sharp object in the Tissamaharama area. Police said that a clash between two groups near the Beralihela school had led to the stabbing.

The victim was admitted to the Dembarawewa Hospital with critical wounds and later transferred to the Hambantota Hospital. However, he had succumbed to injuries before admission.

The deceased has been identified as a 35-year-old resident of Beralihela, Tissamaharama.

The body has been placed at the Hambantota Hospital while the postmortem examination is to be conducted today.

Tissamaharama Police is conducting an investigation into the incident.
