Sri Lankan woman arrested smuggling gold into India

Indian customs officials have arrested a Sri Lankan woman who smuggled gold weighing nearly one kilogram into the country by concealing it under her garments.

Officials of Air Intelligence wing of customs seized 951 gm of gold being smuggled by a Sri Lankan woman who arrived at the airport in Tiruchirapalli late last night, officials said.

The woman, who brought the gold by hiding it in her body, had been arrested, police said.
