Hambantota Mayor arrested

Hambantota Mayor Eraj Fernando arrested for allegedly attempting to assault a suspect in police custody in March, 2014, Police spokesman told Ada Derana.
On March 28, 2014, three individuals including a member of the Hambantota Pradeshiya Sabha were injured following a clash that broke out between two groups in Ambalantota.
Mayor Eraj Fernando will be produced before the Hambantota Magistrate, today.
