FCID questions Avant-Garde chairman

The Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) today recorded a statement from the Chairman of Avant-Garde Security Services, Major (rtd) Nissanka Senadhipathi.

He was reportedly questioned in connection with the transferring of funds from a bank account belonging to the company to another account.

Senadhipathi arrived at the FCID office at around 1.30pm today and was questioned two and a half hours, police said.

A case pertaining to Avant-Garde Security Services is being heard in the Colombo Magistrate’s Court while the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) is conducting investigations over the floating armoury in Galle and the armoury at the BMICH.

Major Senadhipathi, during his military service has served in the Elite Special Force Regiment of the Army Commandos and as the Chief Security Officer of the Ministry of Defence & Army Head Quarters.

He was the personal bodyguard to the former President D. B. Wijetunga and late Minister Gamini Dissanayaka when they held high offices.
