Malaysian police have shut down a drug lab and nabbed eight suspects including two Sri Lankans in a drug sting, the Rakyat Post reported today.

The operation, conducted by Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime investigation department, special tactical intelligence narcotics group (Sting) and Selangor Narcotics Crime investigation department, also seized RM10 million worth of drugs and drug processing items.

Narcotics Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said the operation involved seven places around Klang Valley, including Wangsa Maju, Damansara, Sri Kembangan and Sepang.

The drug lab, which was producing Syabu and ecstasy, was discovered in Sri Kembangan. “Of the eight suspects, five were Malaysian citizens, two from Sri Lanka and one from India,” he told reporters at a press conference at Bukit Aman.
