Johnston Fernando further remanded

Former Minister Johnston Fernando, who was arrested over allegations of financial frauds against him, was further remanded till June 8 by the Kurunegala Magistrate on Tuesday (6).


The Counsels of Fernando have already filed a bail application at the Kurunegala High Court in this regard. However, that order is still pending.

The Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) arrested the former Minister as he arrived at the FCID to give a statement on alleged financial misappropriations in the Lanka Sathosa Ltd.


The ex-Minister will be produced in the Court again on 8 June.
