Rajapaksa also denies meeting with Sirisena

June 26, 2015   03:02 pm

Reports published regarding an urgent meeting between former Mahinda Rajapaksa and incumbent President Maithripala Sirisena at the Speaker’s official residence are untrue, Rajapaksa’s Media Coordinator Rohan Weliwita said.

Certain newspapers and websites had reported today that a secret meeting was held last night at the residence of Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa, who is a brother of the former President.

The statement from Rajapaksa’s aid comes after a similar release issued by the President’s Media Division this morning denying media reports alleging that such a meeting had taken place.
