Premalal Jayasekara further remanded

June 30, 2015   04:49 pm

Former Deputy Minister Premalal Jayasekara and the other suspects accused of involvement in the murder of a United National Party supporter during the last Presidential election, have been further remanded until July 14.

When the case was taken up before the Pelmadulla Magistrate’s Court today, the attorneys representing the defendants requested that their client be released on bail as relevant investigations have concluded.

However, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) notified the court that investigations into the incident are still incomplete.

After considering the facts presented, the court denied the bail plea and ordered that they be further remanded.
