Acceptance of nominations for election from tomorrow

The Elections Department says that nominations for the 2015 General Election will be accepted from July 06 to 15. The Department is making preparations to hold the General Elections on August 17.
Deposits of Rs.2,000 per candidate representing independent groups will be accepted until July 13 while there will be no deposits from the 64 registered and recognised political parties.
Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya said that applications for postal votes can be made from August 3 – 10.
