Homeowner dies after being pushed off top floor by burglars

An elderly man was killed after he was allegedly pushed off the top floor of a residence in the Green Park area on the Beragala-Koslanda road in Haputale by a group of robbers who had broken into the house. 

He had suffered critical injuries following the fall and had succumbed to injuries after being admitted to the Diyatalawa Hospital. 

The deceased, a 70-year-old, had been living at the residence in question by himself.  

One of the suspects has been arrested in connection with the incident while Haputale Police is conducting further investigations to apprehend the remaining suspects. 

The individuals are believed to have broken into the home in order to steal the valuables inside.
