Four members of same family arrested over Wellapalla murder

Four individuals from the same family, including two women, have been arrested in connection with a murder which had taken place in Wellapalla, Pannala-Muthugalayagama.

A 31-year-old man who was stabbed with a sharp object at the Wellapalla Junction last night while he had succumbed to injuries after being admitted to the Kuliyapitiya Hospital. 

The murder victims had reportedly attempted to start an illicit relationship with a married woman since a while back and when the woman had rejected his advances, a dispute had ensued.  

Therefore the woman in question, her mother, father and brother have been arrested on suspicion in connection with the murder, police said.
