Sri Lankan woman held on charge of smuggling gold

A 33-year-old Sri Lankan woman has been arrested for allegedly smuggling gold worth 5.5 million Indian rupees, Chennai airport officials said on Thursday. 

The suspect was found concealing two kg of gold ornaments in her dress by Air Intelligence Unit of the Customs department in Chennai late Wednesday night, they alleged. 

She had arrived from Dubai, the officials added.
