Ex-PS chairman who threatened Dullas released on bail

The former Chairman of the Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha, Dikkumburage Kulaweera, who allegedly threatened to kill former Minister Dullas Alahapperuma, has been released on bail.

Kulaweera had reportedly surrendered to the Matara Magistrate’s Court through an attorney earlier today (17).

He had been accused of threatening Alahapperuma near the Matara District Secretariat on Monday (13), the final date for handing in nominations for the General Election. 

The former PS chairman was ordered released on a personal bail of Rs 200,000 by Matara Chief Magistrate Yuresha de Silva.
