PS chairman arrested over ‘distorted’ flag at UPFA rally

The Chairman of the Yatunuwara Pradeshiya Sabha and UPFA Kandy District candidate, Thusitha Kumara Welagedara, has been arrested on charges of hoisting a distorted national flag at a recent election rally. 

It had been reported that such distorted flags were hoisted at the UPFA election rally, held in Kandy with the participation of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa on July 26. 

Kadugannawa Police launched an investigation into the incident and arrested the PS chairman on suspicion today.
