Courts release Tamil Nadu fishermen

Two courts in the Northern province today (10) ordered the release of 40 fishermen arrested by the Navy for allegedly fishing in Sri Lankan territory in June.


While 14 of them belonged to Rameswaram, the rest were from Nagapattinam and Karaikal, Indian Fishermen Association President S. Emiret and Secretary N J Bose said.


All the 40 fishermen have been released by the respective Judicial Magistrates, they said. (PTI)
