Hand grenade found outside candidate’s house

A hand grenade has been discovered in front of the residence of a political candidate contesting the General Election from the Kurunegala District. 

Police spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said that the live grenade was located in front of the residence in Galgamuwa area on the Anuradhapura-Kurunegala main road, based on information received.

Galgamuwa Police has commenced an investigation into the incident, he said.
