South Africa to hold discussions on Sri Lanka with Japan

South Africa’s Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa is to hold discussions with Japanese diplomat and United Nations Administrator Yasushi Akashi on peace-building efforts, rehabilitation and reconstruction in Sri Lanka.

 
Cyril Ramaphosa is meeting Akashi in his role as South African President Jacob Zuma’s Special Envoy to Sri Lanka. Ramaphosa and his delegation is in Japan to increase collaboration and partnerships in the fields of science and technology to boost economic growth and create jobs, according to the News 24 agency.


From Monday, Ramaphosa and his ministers will also pay courtesy calls to the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, former Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori and hold discussions with the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, Sadakazu Tanigaki.
