President Maithripala Sirisena has agreed to allow the opposition to propose a candidate for the Opposition Leader, former Minister Wimal Weerawansa says.

The President Sirisena has made the observation at a meeting held at the President’s Official residence this morning (1), he said.

“We were also of the view that a National Government should not be formed. It would be a disadvantage for the United People’s Freedom Party (UPFA) at the forthcoming local government polls,” he said.
