The Presidential Commission of Inquiry this morning yet again summoned former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa for questioning regarding the alleged use of personnel attached to the Civil Security Department for campaigning activities during the Presidential Election.

The Presidential Commission of Inquiry (CoI) appointed to investigate serious acts of fraud, corruption and abuse of power, state resources, and privileges is investigating a complaint alleging that a group of CSD personnel dressed in civilian attire were used for election campaigning.

Rajapaksa is also expected to be questioned regarding around 500 employees of Rakna Arakshaka Lanka Limited (RALL), a state-owned institution, engaging in campaigning activities in the Nugegoda, Maharagama and Kesbewa area ahead of the presidential poll in January.

The former Defence Secretary had given a statement on the matter on a previous occasion as well.
