Court grants permission to detain Kotadeniyawa rape suspect

The Colombo Chief Magistrate on Thursday (24) granted permission for the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to detain and interrogate the main suspect in the murder and rape of the five-year-old child in Kotadeniyawa.


The suspect, who is said to be the main suspect as he confessed to the crime, was arrested yesterday.


The individual was arrested from a forest area in Baduwatugoda in Gampaha.
