Janaka Bandara Tennakoon remanded

Former Minister Janaka Bandara Tennakoon, who was by the CID arrested in connection with a murder in 1999, has been remanded till October 20 by the Colombo Chief Magistrate.  

The UPFA Parliamentarian was arrested at a private hospital in Colombo yesterday (6) after he failed to arrive at the CID to give a statement despite being notified. 

The minister had been instructed to give a statement to the CID regarding the shooting incident in the Dambulgamuwa area in Matale which resulted in the death of one person and wounded another.
