Govt. obliged to safeguard dignity and pride of tri-forces: President

When facing allegations of war crimes, the government will take it as an obligation to safeguard the dignity and the pride of the tri-forces, President Maithripala Sirisena says.


The observation was made at an opening ceremony held at the Panagoda Army camp.


President Sirisena added he would never let the tri-forces to be weakened in any way. 


A newly-constructed war heroes’ monument that eternally pays tribute to the memory of 3868 war heroes of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) regiment was ceremonially unveiled by President Sirisena in the company of past SLLI Commanders, veterans and the Commander of the Army at Panagoda at the invitation of Major General K.A.D.A Karunasekara, Colonel of the Regiment, this morning (26).
