Attack on HNDA students: NPC commences investigation

The three member committee, that was appointed by the National Police Commission to probe into attack on the Higher National Diplomas in Accountancy (HNDA) students in Colombo, commenced its investigation today.
The students, who were blocking the road at Ward Place near the University Grants Commission (UGC), were baton charged, met with tear gas and water cannons as they refused to disperse.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe has also appointed a committee headed by Dr. B. M. S. Batagoda to investigate into the attack. Minister of Law and Order Tilak Marapana will also make a special statement at the Parliament on this regard, today.
