Ex-President arrives at PRECIFAC

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa arrived at the Special Presidential Commission to probe large scale corruption to give a statement a short while ago.

Rajapaksa was expected to give the statement, regarding alleged failure to make payments for election adverts broadcasted on a state-owned television channel, yesterday however it was postponed to today. 

The recording of the statement was postponed due to a delay in forwarding certain essential documents to the defendants, according to Lesil de Silva, secretary of the commission of inquiry appointed to investigate and inquire into serious acts of fraud, corruption and abuse of power, state resources and privileges.
