Concessionary vehicle permits will be suspended from 21 November, the Ministry of Finance said.

Letter of Credit (LCs) for those obtained on or before 20 Nov can be opened before 31 December, the Finance Ministry said.

Minister Ravi Karunanayake had proposed to end the tax-free vehicles given to public sector workers and elected representatives due to it generating a revenue loss of 40 billion per year.
