Amendments to Appropriation Bill passed in Parliament

Amendments to the Appropriation Bill were passed in Parliament today with 35 votes in favour and 03 votes against. 

The amendments were presented to Parliament by State Minister of Finance Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena.

The amendments were passed during the committee stage, however MP Jayantha Samaraweera sought a vote for the third reading. 

Leader of the House of Parliament presented the Bill entitled “Appropriation” on October 23 to provide for the service of the financial year 2016.
