Narahenpita OIC among 6 top cops transferred

Six officers-in-charge (OICs) of police stations have been transferred effective immediately, the police spokesman said. 

The transfers were ordered by IGP N.K. Illangakoon on exigencies of service, ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said. 

Accordingly, the Narahenpita OIC Chief Inspector M.G.U.D. Gunathilakehas been transferred to the Ampara Police Headquarters for normal duty. 

Balangoda OIC Chief Inspector H.P.G. Prasanna has been transferred to serve as the new OIC of the Narahenpita Police Station. 

The transfer comes just days after the Crimes OIC of the Narahenpita Police Station was arrested by the bribery commission for soliciting a bribe of Rs 2.5 million.
