SASA to begin work-to-rule

December 2, 2015   08:44 pm

The Sri Lanka Administrative Service Association (SASA) says that it will launch a work-to-rule campaign from tomorrow (3) protesting against budget proposals.

The executive committee of the association had met today and decided to engage in a work-to-rule campaign from 8.30am to 4.15pm on Thursday.

Therefore this is likely to affect the Department for Registration of Persons, Department of Immigration and Emigration as well as the Department of Motor Traffic.

The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has also said that it will launch an island-wide strike from 8.00 a.m. tomorrow opposing the budget proposals including the decision to suspend concessionary vehicle permits.

The trade unions of the nursing sector, para medics and supplementary health workers, Government Nursing Officers Association and the Medical Services Trade Union Federation have also opposed the 2016 Budget.
