Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Harsha de Silva says that a ‘Knowledge Platform’, an online internet information bank is being set up by the ministry to promote economic diplomacy and that it would be launched by the end of the first quarter of 2016.

The Deputy Minister revealed this yesterday during the second meeting of the Inter Agency Task Force on Promotion of Economic Diplomacy, set up to coordinate among various government agencies and chambers of commerce to push the economic diplomacy agenda by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This Knowledge Platform is being built to provide important and up to date information on economic, trade, investment and related information on Sri Lanka to its High Commissions and Embassies in foreign countries and also obtain country specific information from the missions abroad, he said.
