Island-wide power failure - CEB

A power outage is currently being experienced throughout the island possibly due to inclement weather conditions, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) said.

CEB chairman Anura Wijeyapala stated that the precise reason for the power failure has not been ascertained and that they are still looking into it.

He stated that the prevailing inclement weather condition is suspected to have caused the outage and that the CEB has commenced restoration of power.
