March 3, 2016   12:36 pm

The verdict in connection with the murder and rape case of ‘Seya Sadewmi’ will be issued by the Negombo High Court on March 15, Ada Derana reporter confirmed a short while ago.

The decision made when the case was taken up for hearing before Judge Champa Rajaratne this morning (03).

Earlier, the court was apprised that the DNA samples found on Seya Sadewmi match Kondaya’s brother Saman Jayalath.

This was informed after the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) submitted a report prepared by the Genetech Molecular Diagnostics Research Institute (GMDRI) on the DNA tests.

Seya Sadewmi was found strangled to death on September 13, 2015 while she was reported missing from her home at Kotadeniyawa in Divulapitiya.
