The Embilipitiya Magistrate today ordered to  exhume the body of the youth who died during a clash with police on March 10, Ada Derana reporter said.

This came after President’s Counsel Hemantha Warnakulasuriya, who is appearing on behalf of the victim, requested that a post-mortem be performed once again in order to further clarify the verdict given in the previous Judicial Medical Officer’s report.

The Magistrate had also ordered the police to provide security to the cemetery in which the man was buried, reporter added.

Meanwhile, former ASP of Embilipitiya police division, D.W.C. Dharmaratne, who was arrested in connect to the incident, has been further remanded until 10 March.

The initial JMO report suggested that injuries and severe internal bleeding combined with shock as the cause for death.
