Yoshitha & 3 others except Nishantha granted bail

Yoshitha Rajapaksa and three others, who were arrested and remanded on money laundering charges, have been granted bail by the Colombo High Court today. Nishantha Ranatunga has filed his bail application separately and it will be considered later today.

 

Bail was granted when the revision application for Yoshitha Rajapaksa and three others was taken into consideration by the Colombo High Court.

 

The revision application was dismissed by the High Court on 29 February. Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa with his attorneys filed the application for his son Yoshitha Rajapaksa on February 17.

 

Yoshitha, Rohan Weliwita, Nishantha Ranatunga and two others, were arrested on charges of money laundering, and were remanded by the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court.
