Person killed following electrocution

A person was killed after being electrocuted in Dampalgama area in Akuressa after contact with an electricity cable which had been illegally pulled across a field, the police said.

The person was identified as a 28-year-old who was a resident of Weligama, Matara. 

The remains of the deceased are deposited at the Matara General Hospital pending a post-mortem.
