Magistrate Thilina Gamage sent on compulsory leave

Colombo Additional Magistrate Thilina Gamage has been sent on compulsory leave by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

Secretary of the commission G.M.W.P. Jayathilaka said that magistrate has been notified in writing regarding the decision by the JSC.

Magistrate Thilina Gamage has been sent on compulsory leave due to an ongoing investigation into the possession of a baby elephant without a valid license.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilaitiya had recently issued notice for Magistrate Thilina Gamage to appear before the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on May 25 to record a statement.
