24 families evacuated from landslide prone area in Pelmadulla

The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) today announced, with the prevailing weather condition is expected to continue, some 24 families have been evacuated from a landslide prone area in Aramba Kanda area in Pelmadulla.


Some 1148 persons affected due to landslides and floods in Ratnapura District are still camped at several centers, the DMC added. 


According to DMC, 101 people were known to have died last week while another 100 people were went missing in the worst hit central district of Kegalle.
