The Prime Minister makes threats to media, Hambantota District MP Namal Rajapaksa says.

The observation was made while speaking to reporters after an event held in Matara last evening.

“This is Yahapalanaya and democracy, making threats to media and to the opposition as well,” he added.

He also accused the Prime Minister of failing to establish the so called democracy that they promised to restore during the election period.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday (23) accused the certain print media of backing the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa with a view to see him back in power. Addressing his United National Party (UNP) members in the central district of Kandy, Wickremesinghe said he would name the media personnel who had benefited during the Rajapaksa presidency and who are now bidding for his return.
