A revision petition filed by a counsel seeking the release of former Senior DIG Anura Senanayake will be taken into consideration by the Colombo High Court on September 08.

The respondents in the petition include several officials including the Attorney General and the chief of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Ada Derana reporter said.

This came after the bail applications of Anura Senanayake, who is in custody for allegedly concealing evidence pertaining to the murder of rugby player Wasim Thajudeen, were dismissed by the Colombo Magistrate several times before.

Senanayake was arrested by the CID on May 23. He was questioned by the CID for several days before the arrest was made.
