The Southern Provincial Council has been adjourned until August 08 due to a tense situation erupted a short while ago on Tuesday (26) morning, Ada Derana reporter said.

The tense situation erupted when today’s session was obstructed by a group of UPFA Councilors in protest over the decision to take away the ministerial portfolios of D.V. Upul, it was reported.

Several ministries handled by D.V. Upul were granted to Southern Provincial Councilor H.W. Gunasena by the President on July 20.
