Johnston Fernando, Rohitha at CoI today

Former Minister Johnston Fernando arrived at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (CoI) a short while ago on Monday (08) morning, Ada Derana reporter said.


Fernando has been summoned to record a statement on the allegation of importing a stock of rice for Lanka Sathosa without an approval from the Cabinet.


Meanwhile, MP Rohitha Abeygunawardena has also been summoned by the CoI. The MP was summoned to record a statement over alleged misuse of public funds at the water filling ceremony and opening of the Hambantota harbor in 2010, it was reported.  


Abeygunawardene was the Project Minister of Ports and Highways at the time. Several other officials were summoned before the commission to record statements in this regard in earlier occasions as well.
