Three killed following accidents on E01 and E03 highways

In two separate accidents, three people have died and one injured following road accidents occurred on the E01 and E03 highways, police said.


Two persons, aged 25 and 23 year-old, were killed and a 19-year-old was injured after a car they were traveling in crashed into a lamp post on Katunayake highway near the interchange at Ja-Ela this morning (29).


The injured person with life threatening injuries has been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.


In another accident, a 25-year-old has succumbed to injuries following a crash involving a car and a cab on the southern highway in Akmeemana last evening.


His remains are kept at the Karapitiya hospital pending an autopsy.
