Girl molested by doctor at hospital, inquiry underway

An inquiry is underway against a doctor on the allegation of molesting a female patient at the Colombo South Teaching Hospital, the Ministry said in a statement.


The inquiry was launched under a directive issued by Health Services Director General Dr. Palitha Mahipala, it was reported.


The girl was reportedly molested by the doctor at the Judicial Medical Officer’s office at the hospital few days ago.


Director, CSTH Dr. Asela Gunawardana has been directed to conduct the inquiry and submit a report with respect of the incident, sources said.
