A licence will be obtained in order to dispose garbage in a land in Ekala instead of Meetotamulla, Ministry of Local Government and Provincial Councils says.

The Ministry added that garbage will be dumped at the site soon after the licence is issued.

However, a protest was also staged by a group of area residents blocking the way over the decision to dump garbage collected from the city of Colombo in Ekala on September 12.
