The Prime Minister and the President are like property auctioneers, Chief Opposition Whip and JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake says.

He expressed this view while speaking at a press conference held in Battaramulla this afternoon (03).

He also pointed out that wrong economic policy of the Maithri – Ranil government that is being followed should be changed without any delay.

Dissanayake went on to say that the government is eyeing to sell the oil tank farm of Trincomalee to the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.

“In this farm 10,000 metric tons of oil could be stored. Four month’s need of fuel by the country could be stored in this oil tank farm. There is the facility of distributing fuel by train. Hence, Trincomalee could be used as a center to distribute fuel. This resource could be used to benefit the country. However, the government is attempting to sell it,” he charged.
