Thawheed Jamath Secretary arrested

The Police arrested the Secretary of the Sri Lanka Thawheed Jamath organization, Abdul Razik, on Wednesday.


He was arrested on the charge of making remarks against other religions in an offensive manner at a protest campaign held in Maligawatte on 3 November.


Abdul Razik will be produced before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court this afternoon.


A person known as Dan Priyasad was also arrested and remanded yesterday for speaking against religions in an offensive manner. Bodu Bala Sena General Secretary Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera also staged a protest in front of the Borella Magazine prison against the decision.
