Hambantota port to be revitalized

A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Government of Sri Lanka and China Merchant Holdings Limited (CMHL) on the framework for the revitalization of the Hambantota Harbour.

The memorandum of understanding was signed yesterday (December 08) between officials of CMHL and the secretaries of three Ministries of the Government of Sri Lanka, namely the Treasury, the Ministry of Ports and Shipping and the Ministry of Strategic Development and International Trade.

This decision has been also approved by the Cabinet.
