Ukrainian arrested for violating visa rules

A Ukrainian national, believed to have been living in Sri Lanka illegally and violating visa laws, has been detained at the detention camp in Mirihana. 

The suspect was arrested near the Malgoda junction, in Payagala. 

The passport belonging to the Ukrainian national revealed that the individual did not have a valid visa which permitted his stay in Sri Lanka. 

Sources from the police headquarters revealed that the the 26 year old Ukrainian national was ordered detained at the camp after being produced at the Kalutara Magistrate’s Court.
