People’s Responsibility Centre of Sri Lanka held a protest in front of the United Nations country office in Colombo today (February 12), urging the organization to end its ‘undue threat and influence’ on the internal affairs of the island nation.
A letter signed by Rev. Jamburawela Chandraratne Thero of People’s Responsibility Centre, which alleged that the UN has failed to pay equal attention and concern about the victims of majority Sinhalese civilians who were affected as it is influenced by the Tamil Diasporas and Islamic extremists.
They noted that such ‘unethical behaviour’ would not only tarnish the image of the UN but also damage the peace and harmony in Sri Lanka.
