Sketch of suspects in Piliyandala shooting released

The police Sunday released a sketch of the suspects allegedly involved in the shooting in Piliyandala which claimed the life of a cop last week.

According to the sketch, one man is about 38-years-old, five feet and six inches in height, and is fair in complexion. The other individual is about 35-years-old, five feet and three inches in height.

The police also requested public to contact the following numbers if they are aware of whereabouts of the persons. The numbers are 0718 591 641, 0112 852 555, 0718 591 727 and 0112 662 323.

A police Constable was killed and five others including two children, who were at the location when a group of unidentified persons had opened fire at them, were injured and hospitalized on May 09. The shooting occurred at around 8.30 pm, according to police. The IGP has appointed senior DIG M.R. Latiff to investigate the incident.
