Official Term of Presidential Commission of Inquiry to be extended?

Reports confirm that the official term of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry set up to investigate serious Acts of Fraud and Corruption may be extended tomorrow (6).
As the Official term of the Presidential Commission came to an end on September 03, Officials of the Commission requested a further 6 month time period from President Maithripala Sirisena, to clear all the cases that are currently under investigation.
Secretary of the Presidential Commission of inquiry H.W.Gunadasa stated that, the Commission is operating without interruption even though the official term has ended.
The Presidential Commission was established to investigate serious Acts of Fraud and Corruption committed by government officials during the tenure of the Rajapaksa regime. The Commission has reported that over 2000 complaints were lodged to the Commission after its establishment.
H.W.Gunadasa stated that 17 reports of completed investigations have been handed over to the President pending his verdict. He also stated that it is highly probable that the official time period of the Commission will be extended tomorrow (6).
